(she/her/hers)
My Background:
I am a licensed clinical social worker, licensed in both Illinois and North Carolina. I have worked with adults as a psychotherapist in an outpatient setting since 2018. While I’ve worked with all kinds of folks over the years, I have always felt drawn toward practicing therapy with women. I love supporting client through everyday life moments as well as bigger life changes, because my philosophy is that we can always benefit from a compassionate space to process and grow.
Why I’m a Therapist:
I love therapy and the unique space it is. I really value the courage it takes to come into therapy with honesty and vulnerability, confronting emotions and experiences rather than shying away. It’s such a privilege to be let into someone’s life in this way and I don’t take that lightly. In my experience, we are the experts in our own experience and I’m appreciative of those who bring me in alongside to support them in identifying their strengths and supports and building from there.
Through my years of practice, my interest in working with women has crystallized as a career priority for me. I have worked with some incredible women struggling with fertility who have fiercely taken on the goal of becoming a parent with all the challenges and uncertainty that can include. Bolstering strengths while holding space for vulnerability and connection has felt like home to me. I am in awe of how resilient and authentic my clients are.
Education and Training:
I received my Masters in Social Work with a concentration in health and mental health from Boston College in 2018. I have a background in cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, psychodynamic theory, acceptance and commitment therapy, and solution-focused therapy. In 2025, I will be engaging in additional training in perinatal and reproductive mental health and working towards my Perinatal Mental Health certificate (PMH-C).
Areas of Specialization:
Some specific areas I love to work with are anxiety, depression, mood disorders, women’s mental health, and transition and adjustment to life changes. I am LGBTQ+ affirming.
