Hi, I’m Amy!
I am an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN), dually board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM). I am also a Certified Perinatal Mental Health provider (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International.
As a CNM with over 11 years of experience, I have had the honor and privilege to support individuals and families during many blessings but also during grief, trauma and loss. Throughout our lifespan we experience hormonal, social, emotional and physical changes that can feel overwhelming and difficult to navigate. Our coping mechanisms and support systems also change throughout our life and what may have helped us in the past may no longer meet our current needs. Whether you are seeing me for a preconception consultation, experiencing new onset or worsening perinatal mood/anxiety symptoms or managing mood changes related to hormonal transitions during your lifetime (i.e. puberty, lactation weaning, fertility treatments, perimenopause or starting gender-affirming hormones); my goals are to ensure you feel safe to share your story as well as be informed and knowledgeable about all your options. Together we will develop a treatment plan that is meaningful, empowering and aligns with your values and identities. The plan will be individualized based on your unique lived experiences and current symptom presentation. A treatment plan could include any combination of lifestyle changes, supplements, alternative and complementary therapies, psychotherapeutic and/or pharmacologic options.
Both my professional and personal experiences have shaped the provider I am today and helped to frame my understanding and compassion around many reproductive issues. Over the past 14 years working in healthcare, I have cared for a diverse group of individuals with varying family dynamics including people across many different faith backgrounds, people of color, people in the LGBTQ+ community, single parents and people experiencing infertility as well as difficult parenting decisions. I deeply believe in the importance of providing culturally competent care to all the people and families I serve. Wherever you may be in your mental health journey, we will work together to optimize your mental health care so you will have the confidence and self-worth to Flourish through all the seasons of life.
