My Background:
I am a Graduate Clinical Intern currently completing my Master’s in Social Work at Loyola University Chicago, with a concentration in Advanced Clinical Practice. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and over ten years of experience in library science, supporting individuals in accessing resources and services. My background also includes experience in community mental health, public health, and non-profit settings.
Why I’m a Therapist:
I understand how complex and impactful life’s challenges can be for individuals and families, particularly around experiences related to pregnancy and parenting. I aim to foster a warm and empathetic space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered. My goal is to understand each client’s unique experience and to partner with clients as a compassionate, steady, and supportive presence through challenges and growth.
My Education/Training:
My clinical experience includes completing training in clinical assessments and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as an internship in a long-term residential program supporting clients experiencing mental health and substance use challenges. Through my graduate education and training, I have developed a strong interest in lifespan development and relational theory.
Areas of Specialization:
I am excited about supporting individuals navigating perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, depression, anxiety, social and cultural stressors, and life transitions. My approach is trauma-informed, multicultural, and strengths-based, drawing from Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
